normal.
Van Gogh's words made me think.
If I'm too focused on normal where will my flowers grow? Do I even dare to grow my own flowers? Or do I stay stuck in normality on the paved road?
Fit in. Be the same.
It's hard to step out. Be brave. Make hard choices. Be different.
As I seek to find my own personal style, especially in my art there is a struggle to follow trends. Maybe you feel the same?
If I'm honest I'll admit that I'm drawn to.....
all things weathered
old books
old wood
old furniture
and all things rusty
Basically I like the things most people throw away. That's the flowers I'm growing.
Trendy? Popular? Probably not to most people.
Maybe you like the exact opposite. All things shiny, clean and new. I believe we each have to veer off the paved road in our own way. Grow our own flowers. Be different and find our own style.
That's my version of trying to grow flowers.
What's yours?
