Small things that made my March just a little bit better.

exploring

I generally don’t use small art journals but after repurposing these children’s board books I’ve definitely reconsidered. This video shows how you can make your own.

reading

I love many of Tieghan Gerard’s recipes and would highly recommend her cookbook, Half Baked Harvest Every Day. Although not your typical genre for the reading category I think it still qualifies.

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.

inspiring

Lyn Slater believes you can live boldly at any age. In this short video, “How to Be Old” she discusses how aging can still include a life of creativity, connection, and new beginnings. I found her perspective refreshing.

eating

Sorry (not sorry) but it is Ina Garten for the win, yet again. I made these Tomato & Goat Cheese Tarts for my wine group and everyone loved them. I generally opt to make them bite-size rather than the larger version described in the recipe.

Art is not always about pretty things. It’s about who we are, what happened to us and how our lives are affected.

following

YouTube: Sandi Hester’s vlog-style art channel offers tips, processes, and info with her engaging personality.

Pinterest: Liz Marie Galvan for beautiful farmhouse, cottage-style home decor,

Instagram: I have followed Roben-Marie Smith for many years. Her use of bright colors in contrast to my dingy palette never ceases to inspire me.

blooming

Our Magnolia is in full bloom, a fancy statement piece out front. The bright white is in stark contrast to our generally gray Seattle sky. It is joy.

Everything you do makes a difference. And you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.
