Chocolate Salted Caramels

Such creativity in a tiny package.

Delicious perfection.

I'm glad the chocolatier persevered to conceive this oh-so-delightful combination. I can't image the trial and error or the mathematical calculations necessary for the perfect ratio of salty to sweet.

All I know is that it's delightful.

But, unlike the perfect combination the candy maker achieved I am still in the initial stages of experimentation. I am trying to find my own voice in the art I make, the blog I write and the online presence I am attempting to generate.

I've known for awhile that the delivery of my blog post was not styled the way I wanted. I think I tried to be too creative. Too unique. Using too many different ideas.

The font was hard to read. I made drab color choices. The self-made logo didn't fit in.

Can someone please say, "Hodge podge"?

Yes, obviously I'm a novice. Beginner. Trainee.

It's true that you have to start somewhere. If I'd waited for everything to be perfect I never would have started. Or tried. Because perfect is unattainable. Perfection robs us from trying. Perfection does not allow for mistakes. Or change.

Thankfully I've learned a few things since I launched the website. Trial and error combined with hindsight can be a beautiful thing.

I've realized for some time that I did not format the delivery of the blog in the most user friendly manner. It looks fine on the website but needed some adjustments on the email service side. I really didn't want to take the time to make the changes. Probably because I didn't know how it should look. Or really what I should do. I'm still searching for my voice. My style.

More learning.

Revisions. Edits. Changes.

change is inevitable - art journal

Since I'd been avoiding making these changes I assumed it would be hard. I won't get all technical on you but there are quite a few steps beyond just writing and uploading a photo that is involved. It takes no time at all to beat myself down. Make assumptions. Too arduous. Too difficult. Too time consuming.

If I'd just do the work. Make the changes. It would already be done. And guess what? If I need to I can change it again. Revising has no limits.

If I can make changes. If I can learn. So Can You. I would like to encourage you to try to change the one thing you've been avoiding. Keep it small. But try. It might not be as hard as you think.

Thanks for following along. I appreciate your comments, emails and texts. You've been very encouraging to this beginner.

I hope you like the simpler, cleaner look. And that reading on your phone is easier.

I'm sure there will be more changes down the road. Bear with me as I keep learning and changing.

In the meantime you will find me at Fran's Chocolates striving to find that perfect combination of salty and sweet.

Now that I think of it this is also the combination I should be aiming for in myself.
